Skateboard Accessories

Skateboard accessories range from shoes to nuts and bolts. Style is such an important part of skate culture that even the clothing that a skater wears is considered an important accessory, absolutely essential as much as their board is essential. It is difficult to pick out any one product that is popular, they are constantly changing and evolving.

One of the most important skateboard accessories is a skate tool. They are small enough to be easily carried in a pocket and have all the necessary tools and pieces, often cleverly configured, to tighten or loosen a bolt, change bearings and wheels as well as the trucks. The tools required are a Philips head screwdriver, two sizes of sockets for the bolts or an adjustable wrench, and a bearing popper, which is often combined with the screwdriver.

Other skateboarding accessories include colored grip tape to give the top of the board a unique color, knee, elbow pads and gloves for protection and a first aid kit just in case. Skateboarding is a very dangerous sport and abrasions and cuts are just the beginning of a long list of painful injuries that can occur while skating.
